Sandy earned her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Northwest University in Kirkland, WA. She is a certified therapist with the State of Washington. Sandy is also a certified Facilitator in the Human Equine Alliances for Learning (H.E.A.L.) modality. Ms. Matts has been certified by Professional Association for Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) and worked for 3 years at Little Bit Therapeutic Riding Center. A life-long horseman, Sandy has taught riding to 100’s of people of all ages profesionally. She currently has her own Norwegian Fjord mare. From 2011 to the present, Sandy’s professional time has been spent working with the at-risk youth (at risk for suicide, running away, drug and alcohol abuse, self-destructive behaviors, etc.) who come to Raven Rock Ranch, a 501 (C) (3) charitable organization. This Equine Facilitated Therapy program has been found to be highly effective in aiding clients to overcome the behaviors that make them “at-risk”.
