Meet the Therapists

Roo
Nurturing. Wise. Full of love.
Roo spent much of her early life as a broodmare, bringing multiple babies into the world, but she never had the opportunity to nurture them in the way her heart longed to. Since arriving at RRR, she’s found healing through connection, both in the children she now gently guides and in the herd and staff who shower her with the love she was once missing. With every soft nuzzle and patient pause, Roo shows what unconditional care feels like. Being a therapist seems to come naturally to her, it's as if she was always meant for this kind of love.

Rosy
Tiny. Tender. Unforgettable.
Rosy may stand just 30 inches tall, but this purebred Miniature Horse carries a heart the size of the ranch. With no pony blood in her lineage, Rosy is all horse, just in a perfectly petite package that makes her the ideal partner for children who are learning to overcome fear and build trust. Her warmth, patience, and gentle spirit invite even the most hesitant kids to take that brave first step. Loved by all who meet her, Rosy is a great reminder that sometimes the biggest healing can come from the things that are easiest to overlook.

Romeo
Spunky. Bold. Sure footed.
With his half-Shetland, half-Miniature roots, Romeo is the perfect size for our smallest riders, but his personality is anything but small. As the self proclaimed “little brother” of the barn, Romeo brings a mischievous charm and a big dose of fun to every day. Though he’s a rascal at heart, his spirited nature offers powerful lessons in patience, perseverance, and unconditional love. For the kids who work with him, Romeo is more than just a pony, he’s a trusted friend who reminds them that healing can come with a side of laughter.

Rainer
Lively. Engaged. Full of light.
With his striking blue eyes and soft cream colored coat, Rainier is as vibrant in spirit as he is in appearance. A former Hunter Jumper, his career may have ended early due to injury, but his sense of adventure never slowed down. Now at Raven Rock Ranch, Rainier brings an infectious “come with me” energy that invites kids to step boldly into a new chapter. His eager, forward-moving spirit helps children imagine a life beyond their pain, a new frontier where healing, trust, and joy are waiting to be discovered. With Rainier leading the way, every session feels like the start of something brave and beautiful.

Remmy
Gentle. Curious. Full of heart.
“Remmy” short for Rembrandt, was a PMU foal, which means he never got the chance to know his mother. His early loss has shaped him into a uniquely empathetic friend and guide. A majestic Shire with a tender spirit, Remmy may be one of our biggest horses, but it’s his gentle heart that makes the biggest impact. Like so many of the children who come to the ranch, Remmy spent much of his early life without guidance or companionship. He had to learn to believe in himself and to press on. Once he arrived at Raven Rock Ranch, everything changed.

Ria
Brave. Intuitive. A mirror of hope.
Ria’s story is one of profound courage. She came to RRR after surviving near starvation while pregnant, having endured the heartbreak of losing two companion horses in a confined and hopeless space. But Ria is not simply a survivor, her very essence is bravery. She pressed forward, drawing on a strength from within that now defines her and shapes the way she walks alongside the children in her care. Highly attuned and fiercely compassionate, Ria instinctively anticipates the needs of others, gently guiding her kids to find their own inner strength. In her presence, healing feels not only possible, but powerful. powerful.

Bergie
Bright. Playful. Steadfast.
Bergie, a Norwegian Fjord and the trusted partner of our Chief Mental Health Officer, Sandy, is as steady and intuitive as they come. With a wise, inquisitive nature, she leads with love, but never shies away from gently challenging the children she works with to rise above their fears. Her quiet confidence and emotional awareness have a way of reminding each child just how strong and capable they truly are, even when they can’t see it for themselves. Whether she’s calmly guiding a child through a tough moment or celebrating their breakthroughs, Bergie walks beside them as both a mirror and a mentor on the path to healing.
Rex
Wise. Attuned. A natural teacher.
With a pedigree that traces back to the legendary Secretariat, Rex is a former Thoroughbred racehorse whose life once revolved around speed, precision, and performance. But here at RRR, he’s found a deeper calling, helping kids heal. His years of professional training make him incredibly perceptive, attuned to even the smallest cues, and wonderfully responsive. Rex uses that intuition to gently guide his kids in learning about boundaries, how to recognize them, respect them, and most importantly, establish their own. Quick on his hooves and steady in spirit, Rex is both a mirror and a mentor on the path to healing.
